Boxcars - A companion + questline based on a pre-existing character in Fallout: New Vegas

well I got this one idea, it's very spefic, but it's a boxcars companion and story mod

 

remember that guy who survived the niption lottery but got his legs smashed in and says the f word alot?

he had so much personality for so little time he had ingame, I was thinking maybe adding a companion mod and story for him, but yet to my no coding knowledge and lack of time (school upcoming job) I couldn't

really do the idea for myself. However if you wanna take up on it or know a guy who can take up on it maybe you can use it

 

the quest/companion recruitment initiation starts when you either

1. have neutral ganger rep and give him enough med-x and a doctor's bag performed on him (may require a skill check)

2. have good ganger rep and give him a doc bag 

3. have bad rep and requires a bribe and doc bag

 

after that he's your companion, however it doesn't end there.

 

he will be like one of the vanilla fnv companions, he will have certain triggers which will open up more dialogue and quest stuff

I was thinking aside from little dialouge he would have a quest where you give him armor so he doesn't blend in with the gangers, but also some people would recognize him and snitch on the courier

you will later learn he was called "Boxcars" because he was framed as the leader of a drug smuggling heist on a train that he attended because he thought he was delivering non-illegal items and was framed as one of the high ranking members.

 

the quest will involve you going to a ncr judge and trying to find evidence that boxcars was framed

the good outcome is that he gets proven innocent and boxcars keeps traveling with the player

neutral outcome is that boxcars gets jailed at the strip and is awaiting to be relocated to his hometown but also opens up a jail breakout quest

bad outcome, the player intentionally throws boxcars under the bus (for whatever reason) gets jailed

escapes and sends a letter to the courier telling his woes and anger and how he betrayed him

(also this may require either A. a A.I. to do more voicelines, which is controversial nowadays, or B. a whole new voice actor that might have to re-do all of boxcars lines)
