Disabling player chars being always in bright light

Hi. I'd like to disable the player characters light. It bothers me a lot when I'm walking through a darker area and my characters look "pasted in" because they constantly have this player light following them instead of blending in with the environment. Any tips on where to get started? There seems to be no mods for this.
