Tabbing in and out of the game leads to crashing

Whenever I tab quickly through my open windows, my game crashes. my laptop doesn't even freeze up, the game just disappears from the background.

I believe the problem might be due to me downloading the 2.12a updates of the core mods (cybercmd, redscript, codeware, etc.) without downloading 2.12a itself, then rolling those mod updates back to their previous 2.12 versions.
How can I fix this problem?

You need to close CET and change window, otherwise the game will always crash,
