HollownessDevoured Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 (edited) You still need the resources in the override folder I believe (erf files materialobjects, modelhierarchies, modelmeshdata and the gda's). I have done this and tested and it worked. Edited April 25, 2024 by HollownessDevoured
stadavan Posted April 23, 2024 Author Posted April 23, 2024 Hi, i see.. ok thanks for the info. not sure if this is correct, seems that the game cant read the locked DLC erf freely because its encrypted. I think its too problematic, I'm just an editor level, half maybe quarter modder, and even worst for people that cant edit at all. Its fine without it. if someone can unpack and repacked back the erf as exactly the same without encryption and publish it for replacement. but this should be done by some anonymous, not regular known people. There is no reason for bioware to lock the erf DLC, must be accident, its just a small DLC. but still there is risk. If have to verify it properly through bioware, will be too much headache
theskymoves Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 EA/BioWare did not encrypt the DLC accidentally. It was a deliberate anti-piracy measure.
stadavan Posted April 24, 2024 Author Posted April 24, 2024 I see.. thanks for the clarification. i was just speculating because I've been in that kind of environment before, I made that kind of mistake. but back then I was still young
gioveb Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 (edited) Any chance to ask BioWare/EA to release the keys for decrypting the DLC erfs to the public for development? If they have not lost them of course. Edited June 10, 2024 by gioveb
