Fallout New Vegas: Trouble getting animated effect on mesh to work properly

So the issue I am having is that I am attempting to import and edit an animated mesh effect from one sword to match the shape of another in blender (using blender 2.49b and Blender Nif Scripts 2.5.5) and then export it back into New Vegas. However I am running into an issue where the full mesh has no collision/can't be picked up on the ground and if I spawn it into my inventory the animated effect doesn't play.

EDIT: "Fixed" the issue by just warping it in outfit studio instead
