Meldoniktv
Stay Awhile and Listen. I am writing to discuss a potential enhancement to the Paladin character's "Thorns" skill in Diablo 2 Resurrected, which I believe could improve gameplay experience. As it currently stands, the "Thorns" skill is activated exclusively by physical melee attacks. This functionality, while useful, limits the strategic potential of the Paladin class, especially against ranged and magical enemies. I propose an update to this skill that would allow "Thorns" to activate in response to ranged and magical attacks as well. Implementing this change could not only broaden the defensive capabilities of the Paladin but also enhance the tactical depth and enjoyment for players who favor this class. It would also ensure a more balanced playing field against a diverse array of enemy types, contributing positively to the game's overall challenge and engagement. I have already dedicated some time to modify the "Thorns" skill behavior for the Paladin class in Diablo 2 Resurrected, focusing on allowing it to activate upon ranged and magical attacks. I have made adjustments in the "itemstatcost.txt" file, specifically at line 80 in the "itemevent1" and "itemevent2" columns, where I entered "damagedbymissile" and "attackedinmelee". I also set the range to 600 yards. These changes have successfully made the skill react to attacks from quill rats, but it does not yet respond to attacks from Fallen Shaman. At this point, I might not need to create an entire mod but rather could use some guidance on what to adjust next to extend the functionality further. Any help or direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Ultimately, I am aiming to modify the Paladin's "Thorns" skill in Diablo 2 Resurrected so that it activates in response to all types of attacks. Thank you for your dedication to improving the game and for supporting the community of players.
