Where can I find meaning behind the random comments/statements spoken by the NPCs in Morrowind such as ""it just stood there holding it's tail and whispering" or "I don't recall using teleportation...?

I don't think there is any deeper meaning to the random statements spoken by some NPCs. With the exception of adding spice to your game playing experience, I believe them to be simply that... random. However, I could be mistaken. If you would like to scour the Unofficial Elder Scroll pages for answers, I'd suggest looking in the Lore section.

I think these phrases might be references to movies, like The Terminator, however the T100new where he came from. I thought it was more like an Alien abduction.

I wander if the creature holding it's tail is also a reference to an old movie character as well.

Sometimes they do seem to be references to something. Sometimes I think it's like overhearing snippets of conversation, on a bus or a train or something and you're just meant to go away intrigued and/or amused. I particularly like the "What was I thinking?" in that astonished tone... I just wonder what they've done!
