FalloutNV and Fallout3 to Fallout4 Conversion

Hey All,

I decided to post and show a project I have been wanting to do for quite some time, and finally decided it was time to start.

The aim of this project is to bring FalloutNV and Fallout3 into the Fallout4 engine. I have started the process by writing tools to convert what I can from the old engines into Fallout4. Starting with Fallout New Vegas.

So far what I have done:

  • Converted terrain and landscape textures
  • Converted static meshes and static collections (no collisions as of yet)
  • Converted references that use the types above
  • Converted diffuse and normal textures


I will continue to work on the tool to convert as much as possible. However for this to be a worth while conversion. I would like to find people who would be interested in helping out with:
 

  • Creating higher resolution meshes
  • Creating textures that leverage Fallout4's lighting system (and higher resolution albedo, normal textures)
  • Recreating the actors as these will not be converted
  • Recreating the quests using Fallout4's papyrus scripting language - I will create the base quest objects
  • And many other things
