transformers fall of cybertron campaign customization mod idea

i understand transformers fall of cybertron is an older game that you have to buy on ebay to play but trust me its a really fun game and still holds up and is still definitely worth your time. even though the official servers for the multi player were shut down years ago some fans have been using unofficial servers to play the multi player where you can make a custom character. the thing is i'm not really much of a competitive player and just like the campaign but i also really like being able to make my own characters in games so i was hoping someone would be able to make a mod for the game to let people make a custom character probably at the start of a level in the campaign and play as them i don't really know if that's possible but considering its possible in multiplayer i don't see why a mod like this wouldn't be possible. anyone please go ahead and let me know what you think about this idea.
