Nice to see some of the nasty commenters on Dark0ne's leaving news being given the heave-ho. Not agreeing with someone doesn't mean getting nasty with it. The level of panic is making me roll my eyes somewhat!

The new owners have said that very little will change, at least give them a chance to prove their promises are worth anything. I think changing too much would be akin to shooting themselves in the foot, which after spending however much it was, they won't want to happen.

They try and dress it up better these days, instead of complaining about the nexus removing racist, discriminatory, etc content, it's complaining about "leftist censorship" but it still comes down to the same thing: "I want to post/see racist and discriminatory content and it's unfair that you're not letting me" and it's really not worth engaging with these people, there is no good faith discussion to be had.

The really fun ones are the people who accuse nexus of hosting pedophilia while at the same time linking to a site that hosts pedophiliac content that was removed from nexusmods. Every accusation is a confession with these folks, and we know full well that if they had their way then mods would be getting censored, just a different and more friendly set of mods being targeted instead of their vitriol.

Both sides have their fair share of raving lunatics, I was accused of being a trans-exclusionary radical feminist and a misogynist in the same tweet, quite how one can be a radical feminist and a misogynist at the same time is beyond me, this was part of a larger pile on where I was basically portrayed as every ist and phobe under the sun, my crime? being critical of the Star Wars sequels.  As for those on the other side, they behave like screaming toddlers and are just as annoying.

I'm sorry to be such a nitpicker, and I AM sorry if I'm missing the mark. But I have seen this tactic used soo many times to put fashism on a level playing field and legitimize it. And I'm just not buying it.

I'm speaking from personal experience, during my time on the staff here I was called both a fascist and an SJW, it's amazing how often you get attacked by both sides when you're in the centre, and it's even worse on X. If you think I'm trying to legitimise fascism then yeah you are missing the mark by a country mile, I have good reason to despise those people and I do.
