Let's say I wanted to make an Argonian Vampire Lord Replacer for Skyrim SE...

Recommended Posts

Hello. First time posting. Looking for some pointers.

As someone who almost always plays as an Argonian in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, I typically avoid becoming a vampire in my playthroughs. The reason is that the ultimate form of the vampire - the Vampire Lord - takes on a decidedly more human/mer like appearance. I'm well aware that there's some lore explanations for this (the Vampire Lord being in the visage of Molag Bal, yada yada), however, it just doesn't feel like an evolution or extension of my lizardy character.

For years, I've wanted to see a Vampire Lord replacer with a more reptilian aesthetic, but I can't seem to find any (at least not for Skyrim Special Edition). There are plenty of Werewolf form replacers - including plenty that feel more appropriate for my Argonian characters - but Vampire Lord replacers seem to mostly come in the form of texture overhauls. Whether the lack of Vampire Lord replacers is due to lack of demand for them or due to technical complications, I'm not entirely sure.

That all said, I know a thing or two about 3D modeling and animation, so I've been considering the notion of filling this gap in the market by creating my own reptilian version of the Vampire Lord. However, I know next to nothing about creating mods... and honestly I'm not even entirely sure where to start with that...

BUT let's say I'm confident I could make a pretty kickass Reptilian Vampire Lord model in Blender... where do I go from there? Any pointers, suggestions, or general information would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Nexus has some tutorials on using Blender in respect to modding, Skyrim modding included. You may find something useful there. Click the----> Link.
