InDarkestNight
Trying to play through the LotD mod as a straight warrior, but I've found that I have nothing to do. Part of the problem is my build. I'm playing a goody-two-shoes character who would never do anything like convort with daedra. As I've said in other threads, it seems trying to be a genuinely good guy locks you out of just about all content. Also, I've found that many things require a more generalist build. For instance, I thought about starting Much Ado About Snowelves, but turns out that requires me to access the CoW, which my character will never do. So I'm forever locked out of one of LotD's integrated quest mods. Wtf? Another problem, is I'm just too damned low level. I tried to go to Elsweyr once I hit level 18 (apparently the minimum to start the quest), but I found I couldn't handle even bandits. Also, I normally save most of the vanilla questlines for later so I can have the most powerful variant its leveled items. This means that pretty much everything is locked off to me other than dawnguard, a questline I've always despised. Also, I chose to go with speech for this run, but I'm struggling to get it high enough level so I can actually make one f*#@ing check. I tried to become thane of riften just now for instance, but I couldn't beat any of the speech checks. Fml. If that's not all bad enough, seemingly all the dungeons I have left require a higher level character than I have. For instance, I found Valthume, but that's a minimum level of 24, and I've already learned the hard way long ago NOT to go in there as a low-level character. Also, all of the relic quests I have from Auryen require me to go to Solstheim, which I can't really do until I'm at least level 30. I legit can't find anything to do. Mostly all I'm doing is wondering around fighting animals because I honestly can't find a dungeon with a low enough level for me that I've already cleared. This is so stupid. Why am I taking so god damned long to level for? Guess I'm too used to having a bigger load order that adds much more content for me to do. Also, I really need to stop playing experimental builds. I should know by now that there's only 5 ot 6 builds that are viable. Straight warrior, mage, stealth archer, paladin, conjuration warrior (maybe with destruction), and stealth illusionist (maybe with conjuration). Literally nothing else works. And yes, I have noticed that I seem to be weaker than normal, possibly due to me actually investing perks into speech for once. Of course, the main reason I have so many is because none of my skills are high enough rank for me to put more in. I only have 5 skills here. Why do I have more perks than I can use? Also, in hindsight, LotD clearly requires a more generalist build, and one that doesn't care so much about morality. If I was simply playing a paladin, I could at least access the CoW and the various questlines that require it. Dawnguard would also make more sense, but I've found that seems to require far too much stealth. Maybe I need to just quit this and move on to my other playthroughs where I test out all the other mods I will eventually need for my full LotD playthrough. Also, I need to stick to builds that actually f*#@ing work. I did try to switch to my stealth character playthrough, but I quit that quickly because after getting mistreated recently, I seriously just couldn't stomach playing an asshole character. I'm still not ready to do so, but what can I do? Fml, f*#@ me trying to find a fresh way to play this game, f*#@ this game's shitty writing that expects you to be an utter villain.
