Dragon Age 2 console command additem doesn't work

Dear all,

I'm playing DA2 on the EA App and want to add Sandal's rune via console. I enabled the console and when I hit the console key the console is activated (game is frozen). I have then tried each of the following versions of the command several times:

runscript additem gen_im_cns_wrn_sandal_act1.uti 1
"runscript additem gen_im_cns_wrn_sandal_act1.uti 1"
runscript additem gen_im_cns_wrn_sandal_act1 1
"runscript additem gen_im_cns_wrn_sandal_act1 1"

I have also tried holding backspace after the console is activated to make sure there is nothing unwanted in the command. I don't know what to do anymore at this point. There doesn't seem to be a mod that would make the command visible. But even so, I tried so many times that typos are virtually ruled out as a cause.

Any advice on how I can make it work? Thanks a lot! :-)

I can’t get any commands to work. I know the console is open because Hawke won’t move and no buttons work until I press Enter.

i have tried pressing backspace before entering the command still no luck.

not to bring a kind of old thread back up, but I'm having the exact same problem but adding backpacks. I even tried to test it on random item codes i found, too, but nothing seems to be working :(
