Sirandar888
Have the next gen version of The Witcher 3 and it looks pretty good. However I really like nights to be dark in games especially those like The Witcher 3 that have potions like Cat .... But in vanilla Witcher the night is just as bright as day just with the color palette change. So I downloaded the next-gen version of Darker Nights and the results were absolutely horrific with extremely pronounced color banding and black banding at night. I tried pretty much everything except for a reshade to fix the problem and got nowhere. Then I jumped through all the hoops to get HDR 10 working on my PC and my TV. Downloaded the HDR calibration tool from the Windows store and did the calibration. And much to my surprise I got really good looking dark nights in Witcher 3 that were actually dark and requiring the use of a cat potion. I thought HDR 10 was just another useless gimmick but it seems like it's not.

You cannot use eARC port on your TV because that blocks the HDR 10 signaling ... Your TV must be connected directly to your graphics card and you must enable enhanced HDMI on your TV. The other issue is that once you do this you won't have any way of getting sound to your home theater system, especially if you don't have another HDMI port on your graphics card. I bought a dongle to go from DisplayPort to HDMI and connected that to my home theater and surprisingly enough it just worked with nothing connected to it.
