Adding a new item like Qi Seasoning?

I'm currently working on a crop mod that I'll eventually add recipes to. The description for one of the crops mentions that when dried up and turned into a seasoning it enhances the flavor of any dish. Originally I thought I'd add it as a food item that would then be used in other recipes in the mod. But then I had the thought of making it like the Qi Seasoning in vanilla SDV. Does anyone know how to add something like that? Just another item that works like the Qi Seasoning without replacing Qi Seasoning.
