That old ST:BC resolution problem!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

In a fit of nostalgia, I purchased GOG's Star Trek Bridge Commander and played it vanilla for all of an hour before wanting all the cool mods I used to have.

So I installed the Kobayashi Maru mod - I never had the mod back in the day but it seemed to encompass much of the stuff I had collected back then.

It started fine but the first thing I did was select the highest possible screen resolution. ST:BC immediately crashed out and wouldn't restart.

Firstly, I tried ticking the reduced colour, low resolution, etc in the ST:BC exe Properties. Didn't work.

So I uninstalled GOG's ST:BC using the GOG app. Sure enough the Star Trek Bridge Commander folder and all it's contents disappears.

I then reinstall ST:BC through GOG but don't install the Kobayashi Maru mod - ST:BC still won't start because of the resolution problem! But there should be nothing in the install which specifies an incompatible resolution!

Unless there's a file outside of the Star Trek Bridge Commander folder which remembers my fateful resolution selection.

I've searched my entire computer for options.cfg - not there. And GOG's ST:BC doesn't install an options.cfg file.

It's almost like my computer has been assimilated!

Any ideas?
