My game won't activate

Every time i try to activate fallout 4's tab it keeps saying "failed to set game mode" and in the details it says

I have fallout 4 downgraded due to the latest update and I tried deleting and reinstalling vortex, and I have also downloaded the latest one

So apparently i am not the only one. Bumping this up since no idea what happened. Played yesterday, went to work, after coming back home the game wont even launch.

 

EDIT: Resolved. Apparently some small update kicked in or the antivirus quarantined the game launcher, if you are running the game on steam do the "Verify the integrity of game files". In my case there was 1 missing file that had to be downloaded again. After that its just a matter of manually enabling your mod list (there is no "enable all" button on Vortex)

i have the exact issue with identical details. also reinstalled both vortex and the game. at least i know im not alone.
