Cannot join multiplayer with mods

Hi all,

My friend and I cannot join each other's games with our mods on. This is our first time trying to do this with mods. We are able without mods. We have checked forums and we have aligned out mods and load orders, removed other saves but still cannot get it to work.

Any help would be much appreciated.
