Based on legends mode, it looks like the game is  perhaps already somewhat compatible with replacing Jin for other models.

I don't know if we're allowed to, but I will Paypal $70 (Can get yourself a new Steam game) to the person who gets a working mod to swap Jin out for Matsu, Yuna, or my Legends character. Preferably Matsu. I'd like do do a New Game+ 100% playthrough, but holding off until we get a replacement for Jin.
