AudrieD
My load order is a jumbled mess. I repair it, run the game, and the load order becomes a jumbled mess. If I make plugins.txt read only, will that help? I ask first so I don't make a bad situation worse. Or does load order just not matter unless it is loose files?
LarannKiar
From what I've seen, Starfield automatically sets Plugins.txt non read only and writes inactive plugins to it so setting it read only probably won't help. The game doesn't (shouldn't) change the order of your active mods unless your mods are ordered in a way which is not supported by the engine, e.g. you placed an ESP above a Full ESM file. I wouldn't like to promote mods I made but if you're interested, I updated Report Load Order Info (SFSE plugin) recently that reads load order data from the game's mod plugin files arrays; exactly in the order the engine loads them. It may help with determining whether your load order is actually changed. There are actually four arrays; for full, small and medium and inactive plugin files. Inactive plugins are the ones that are found in the ../Data folder but aren't activated.
lostinwhere
Are you using a mod manager to arrange your load order, or are you manually editing your plugins.txt file?

Sorry for the delay. I was using a mod manager. I seem to have solved the problem but I could not tell you how. It just stopped doing it while I messed around with profiles and stuff. Senturus1983
If you use Mod Organizer 2 there is a newer version (2.5.2dev2) on github: https://github.com/ModOrganizer2. That one works just fine. @LarannKiar: I had the same issue. Could only be solved by using the newer version of MO2. (Don't know if this issue exists when using Vortex nor if there is a fix if it does) Edited June 21 by Senturus1983
Keelo6969
Vortex seems to be fine. It has had like 3-4 updates in last week or so. Cheers!
