WolfClaw114
So in fo4 you could easily do material swaps within the CK. But in Starfield i dont know how to get about doing this. I want to make a material swap, to give some walls the Spaceport Utility concrete texture. Any simple way around doing that?
TwoWeeks2Live
So not too familiar with starfield kit yet, but this is what I did for an armor mod. So first you do need to extract the materials folder in /Starfield/Tools/ContentResources.zip into /Starfield/Data/ . When you go to the Layered Material Swap category in the kit if you click on any swap it will show the materials it replaces. If you click on the magnifying glass to the right of the material it will open the general material editor. You should get a pop-up at some point saying you need to enable the CreationKitCustom.ini setting. After you do that you should be able to edit and create new materials from existing vanilla ones. It should be similar at that point to Fallout 4. Personally I had issues with the material swaps showing in game on my armors. I ended up attaching the materials manually to the mesh files in nifscope. Creating new materials with the Creation Kit did work for me though. Hopefully this helps somewhat.
