Nemesis "idlebehavior.hkx" Failed to Generate Behavior

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to run the Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine, and every time I launch it, I get the same error message:

ERROR(6002): An exception has occured while patching. Report to Nemesis' author immediately

File: idlebehavior.txt

Message: copy_file: Access is denied.: "cached_behaviors\SSE\idlebehavior.hkx", "c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim special edition\data\meshes\actors\character\behaviors\idlebehavior.hkx"

Failed to generate behavior

I've reinstalled Nemesis twice, verified integrity of game files through Steam... nothing's working. The mod I'm trying to work is Immersive Interactions. Don't know what else to do, and I've updated the engine multiple times already.

You have the game installed in Program Files (x86).  That's likely why there's a Denial to Access.
"But I didn't have this problem before" you'll probably say, well see that's the thing, it won't always cause problems immediately, necessarily, sure as Sheogorath is Jyggalag (lol spoiler alert for an 18 year old game ES:4) it would be okay to have the game files in Program Files if you weren't using any mods, or a small number of scriptless or low-script mods and no animation mods.  But having your game files in there will cause problems eventually while modding, especially while adding animation or script heavy mods.  I learned this the hard way, too.
