Creating a new hero by duplicating an existing one

I have never created a mod for Battlefront 2 before, and I was wanting to try and add General Kota from The Force Unleashed to the game. There is already a replacer mod for Luke and Rey that is available, but I was wondering how difficult it would be to simply duplicate either Luke or Rey, and then install the replacer to take the place of the original. I would still like to keep Luke in the game, and I am already using a Mara Jade replacer for Rey, so I'm trying to see if there's some way I can also get Kota into the game.

Is there some sort of tutorial that I could follow for something like this? My initial search didn't result in anything when I tried searching for one myself.
