Rcmo
Hi, New to modding. For example, im making alternative meshes to medicin and drug items like Jet, Stimpak and so on. For example Vanilla BuffOut have a polygon count about 300 and im making one with more than 1500. I can go lower , but i want high quality as possible. So my question is, what is the negative effect in-game by having very high poly count? Also is there a website or a thread you can point me with the information about general and recommended poly count for other assets like weapons , charachters and so on? South8028
Probably depends only on the power of the PC. The export limit in the official exporter is ~88k polygons, or something like that... Sometimes the exporter does not pass animated models with more than 64k polygons. I do not know why. It is worth remembering that the exporter counts the number of polygons with faces. Not squares, but triangles. The number of polygons per scene is ~300 million, or something like that... I don’t know what counts as a scene. Probably what is within uGridsToLoad. The engine is more demanding on textures than on hi-poly objects. It might make sense to compensate for the quality with hi poly rather than textures. Because textures consume more resources than polygons.
