Witcher 1 and 2 - Night 24h and mute quests and level up sounds

I'm looking for a way to mute the task start/end sounds and level up sounds. I would also like to know if there is a way to set the night to any time of day. I don't know anything about modding, but if it meant deleting audio files that the game couldn't play, for example (deleting the "day" file, copying "night", pasting "night" and renaming it to "day"), then no I would have trouble doing this, but I would need to know the actual names of these files if such a simple method would work.
