Julizzy
Hello, as the title suggests, my concern is grenades and everything else that burns, bangs, hisses and tears large holes in the streets. And no, yes, I used the search function, I do NOT want my companions to have endless amounts of that stuff. On the contrary: THEY should simply NOT use grenades, Molotovs and the like, which also applies to rockets and launchers of the same name. I have been looking for a setting or a mod for some time that tells the companions: Never use grenades, it makes settlers unwilling and prevents the mistress from sneaking properly. Of course, I do not give them them voluntarily, they pick them up themselves (via AFT and collecting loose things). Perhaps one of you knows something about it. Finally, sorry for the Google English, mine is even worse!
fraquar
I'm kinda one step further. 210 years removed from the infrastructure that makes that mess - about the only thing we'd have at our disposal is a Molotov. All these grendades, mines, missiles and mini-nukes - they'd have either been used up or deteriorated to the point you can't really rely on them from a stability standpoint. It's always been the issue with the timeline and landscape Bethesda gives us - it really makes little sense (if any).
Malakai030
I'm using AFT as well, but I don't let my companions gather stuff often since I want to have control over what I collect. The only way I can think of from the top of my head is to check their inventory frequently and search the yellow chests yourself. @fraquar Well grenades and mines are not that hard to make, even in a post-apocalyptic environment. Explosives are made from gunpowder and acid, all you need is the right ignition method, depending on the type of explosive. I mean they made ignitable dynamite bars in the early 19th century and didn't need large factories for that. So as long as some people still can read they can find the methods to produce stuff like this.
RoNin1971
Even molotov cocktails will not be so easy. Where are you going to get the 'ingredients'? Finding a bottle is already going to be a problem, a piece of cloth will be harder and the 'fuel' (... mind you, those cars, they are nuclear). some washing powder or whats that white stuff called used in boxes? would a be nice addition, but equally hard to find, after 200 years. (and no rebuild of society, at all!) Modern day firearms will not last & their ammo close to impossible to produce. Muskets with balls & black powder. Tops. That's if you can mine for the stuff needed and set up a (crude) production line to manufacture it all. The 'pipeguns' are actually the more realistic weapons in the game. The Fallout (3&4) world is particularly problematic, since nobody is actually building anything beyond a shack of 200 years old junk and some food, and more importantly nothing remotely like a society, where things are produced, developed, transported, etc.
