gone for many years, would like to mod dai. there's no more "push a button - add files to mod manager, automatically update everything, launch game" ??

so now I have to manually copy files into one of several mod managers, hack governemnt databases, sell my firstborn to satan, resurrect myself after deeath....  no more easy way to do this?

Use my Vortex Extension. Be sure to watch the YouTube video in the setup notification before you start. You need to do a couple manual steps if you want to use DAIMods.
