No compatible game being managed

Reinstalled Skyrim, and went to download stuff on vortex and I get this text, (The games(s) associated with this download are not managed, Install for the currently managed game?.

I have Skyrim managed, I can make profiles for it, its there, and it works when I select the option Skyrim Special Edition as an option on the bottom right. I'm just downloading SKSE atm and it'll open Skyrim when I go through this prompt, but I just want to go through downloading mods without this prompt.

Make sure you are downloading from the correct site for your game (Skyrim vs Skyrim SE).

You have to be managing the game for the mod you're downloading or you will get the prompt. This is by design.

I'm getting this same error at present (for Cyberpunk) which I've never modded or played, but isn't Nexus mods the correct site to be downloading from? Vortex directs us to Nexus, and then Vortex says that the game isn't managed (which it's sitting in the managed games tab).

AFAIK there's only one Cyberpunk (no Leg / SE / Anniv. editions) to need specified compatibilities right?

You have to switch to managing the game you are downloading a mod for before you start the download, or you will get the prompt asking if you want to install for the currently managed game, or the game the mod is intended for.

Again, this is not an error. This is a helpful prompt to make sure your mods are installed to the game you intend them to be installed for.

I can attest i am having this same issue, i am downloading SE Mods on an SE profile, i have double and triple checked this, it is activated. At this point i'm thinking some sort of cache error in vortex

If it were a cache error, what would you do to fix it? I'm having basically the same error

When you open the mod details pane, does it show the game as Skyrim SE for the mod in question? If it shows a different game, then Vortex may be getting metadata from the site that indicates it's from a different mod page.

Also, I have no idea what the other commenter is talking about in regards to a "cache error". These computations are done at runtime and are not cache-based.
