SMP sometimes goes crazy, stretches into the distance and crashes my game.

I've got quite a few smp clothing/hair mods and every now and then when I equip smp clothing it suddenly stretches infinitely into the distance and my game crashes.

I am not on Skyrim AE, I'm using Skyrim SE 1.5.97.0.

I've got all of the appropriate requirements for faster hdt-smp. I've tried every available install option and the sudden stretch and crash still happens. It only happens when I equip an smp item and not every time. It's very inconsistent. If I'm wearing an smp item and enter the race menu it can stretch and crash then too.

PC specs: Intel i9 13-900k, 32 gb ram 3600 MHz, MSI RTX 4090.

Game is installed on an M.2 ssd

 

If there is anyone out there that has had this same problem or similar and was able to fix it then I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you!
