In some cases, capable of infusing the body with the power of various creatures. Purely cosmetic, and would occupy a helmet slot in the wardrobe. The regulator has a holographic effect over the device, and while I can't find a good enough example in a short and easy to view format, I did find a random Youtube video showing a character wearing one right at the beginning of the video.
