BaronofGondor
Hi, I've been installing mods in Bethesda games for years. However I have no experience in making, and supporting mods myself. So I was hoping that someone who is can take this idea and run with it. Starfield's weapons are all over the place when it comes to what ammo goes with what gun, and the weapon types. The 7.77MM weapons for example makes no sense; The Eon, Grendel, Beowulf, and Kodama all use the 7.77mm round.(in my head cannon I say "triple Seven"). This round is obviously a caseless pistol round, and is Starfield's version of the 9MM. The Eon, Grendel, and Kodama should all use it. The Beowulf should not. The Beowulf is a Marksman Carbine with the damage to back it up, It should not be firing a pistol round; and should not be fed with a P90 style mag. The Beowulf should fire 11mm rounds, and be a bullpup. The Kodama is a Machine Pistol, however the game lists it as a rifle. Change the Kodama to a pistol, lower the damage, and make it spawn earlier in game. There is no Small Caliber rifle by the 3 major arms manufactures. There is no Allied Arms, CombaTech, nor Laredo Assault Rifle. Sure there is the AA99, Drum Beat, and Tombstone, but those are Battle Rifles. They fire Large Caliber Rifle rounds. The 3 Manufactures need something akin to the Maelstrom, and fire a new ceaseless round(A.A. and CombaTech). I'd say put the round size at around 9.4 MM. The UC and FC should fire different ammo. The game already has guns that fire ammo measured in mm and in caliber. 7.77MM and .27 caliber for example. All Ammo types should be put into 3 categories: UC Standard Rounds, FreeStar Standard Rounds, and unaffiliated. CombaTech, and Allied Arms should all use UC Ammo(MM) and Laredo should use FreeStar Ammo(Caliber). Some weapons like the Sidestar will need to swap to 7.77MM instead of .27 Caliber There needs to be more energy weapon types. The Solstice is the only Laser pistol, and the Particle weapons are a joke. Allied Arms needs a laser pistol, and particle weapons.
