Hi all, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help with this issue, I had been using Vortex without issue for almost a year, then this cropped up recently (I'm relatively new to PC's, I built my PC a little over a year ago...). I have been experiencing some issues with Vortex, please see error message below; Unfortunately, the fix had no effect. I contacted Microsoft support who carried out the following works as outlined below, but... this did not fix the issue either. Check the File: Navigate to C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App\6.0.32\. Open the Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App.runtimeconfig.json Reinstall .NET Runtime: Scan device Event Viewer Logs: Open Event Viewer (type Event Viewer in the Windows search bar). Navigate to Windows Logs > Application and look for any errors related to .NET or Vortex. At this point Microsoft support suggested that I contact Nexus support for further assistance, which I did and Nexus support suggested that I post the issue / steps taken on this forum. You need to install the version I linked and then install the newer version on top of it. From what I could find the error you were getting was because the newer version was missing files from the earlier version that it needed in order to remove and update the earlier version. Therefore you need to "fix" the earlier version by reinstalling it and then install the newer version on top of the now "fixed" older version. edit: Also Pickysaurus is a staff member at Black Tree Gaming, the developers of Vortex. He provides most of the installation support on the forum, though he can bring it to the attention of the Vortex developers if he feels he needs to.
