Well, actually once the timer reaches 1200 hours of play time on one character, the time played counter goes back to zero hours played! Is this a feature or a glitch? I just don't know! And is there any mod out there that addresses this issue?

Which time/date, and which version number? All I know is I have the GOTY edition Deluxe which I bought off of STEAM! Don't remember which date I bought it, though! My version number is 1.2.0416!

I've got another limit for you: the screenshot index will stop incrementing after a while. I have a game instance that I started in 2010. It's been used for mod development, so I've taken a lot of screenshots. Recently, the screenshot index in Oblivion.ini stopped incrementing. When I'm in a game session, the screenshots will start at the index number and increment as they should, but when I exit, load the game and take more screenshots, the new ones overwrite the old.

There's nothing wrong with the ini file. The game can write to it just fine. It's just the internal counter has hit the limit. I don't know what that limit is because the Oblivion.ini file has been recreated numerous times. I've gotten new video cards over the years, for one thing.

Who knows, perhaps it's 1200 too. LOL Although 1200 isn't simply expressed in binary, it's unclear why that limit exists.

Anyway now I have to use Fraps to take screenshots in that game instance. My other game instances are fine, for the moment. None are nearly as old though.

Edit: and in my case, the new release of Ave Sithis fixes it. Now the screenshot index is being written to the ini again. Don't care, I got my screenshots back.

Ave Sithis previously had a bug that would prevent screenshots from working. IIde has fixed it. That wasn't my issue in this game instance.
