VilLynne
1) Dunk/move the player into deep water temporarily then pull them out so the FO4 game engine realizes they are no longer underwater and it turns their voice and footsteps back on, then move the player back where they were. I suggest an MCM hotkey. 2) verify users' Fallout4.ini file for thinks like "SResourceArchiveList=Fallout4 - Voices.ba2" [ , etc. ]. Note Vortex users have a third location for FO4 .ini files(s) in AppData/Roaming/Vortex/Fallout 4/profiles , so verify that too. 3) Verify surround sound is Not on in Windows, especially on laptops, because voice will play on the non-existent center channel. 4) Identify any mods which could cause this, or presence of previous mods leftovers which could still be causing this, and message box the player. Note to players with the "water bug", if your voice is gone and you also no longer hear your footsteps even with footsteps volume at maximum then you have this bug, so Go Swimming in Deep Water then come back out one or twice to fix it. I just researched this for myself and thought I would share and suggest what seems like an easy mod for someone to make. If I knew the first thing about FO4 scripting I would do it, but alas. As for me, my voices are soo messed up that both my character and other NPCs are either not speaking, or speaking in voices not even assigned to them. It has to be something deeply wrong with the .fuz audio player build into the game because I can install as simple mod with player voice added in .fuz and it usually won't play. I wonder if making an "alternate" .fuz audio player as a mod to overwrite the built-in player could fix this problem.
