stebbinsd Posted January 23, 2014 Share Posted January 23, 2014 In the vanilla game, you can only take one companions job at a time, even though there are three quest-givers. In the Thieves Guild, you can take two jobs at a time - one for each job-giver - but there are a total of seven jobs available. This doesn't even make any sense. Why would the thieves guild withhold jobs from you if you offer to kill seven birds with one stone? I propose a mod where you can have up to seven jobs at once in the Thieves Guild. You won't be disallowed access to a Numbers Job simply because you already have a Bedlam Job already pending. Better still, allow you to have up to five of each job - one for each major hold - active at once. This way, you can have up to 35 Thieves Guild jobs at once! You can unlock all four special jobs in one fell swoop! And you wouldn't have to sit there for ten minutes, quitting jobs over and over again, until you get the hold you want! Same thing with the Compaions: While jobs that require that shield sibling to accompany you (like the Totems of Hircine and Dragon Seekers) would still only be accessible one-at-a-time, you can take up to three Companions jobs, as long as no more than one of them has a shield-sibling companion. This limitation is necessary, since it's either that, or force players to have a mod that allows multiple followers, and while I use one myself, I think that choice should rightfully belong to each individual player. This doesn't sound like it would be that hard to do. It seems like a simple matter of modifying the dialogue script that causes these NPCs to withhold quests if other quests are active, so that they'll check for fewer quests. Any takers? Just track it and it will probably happen unless for some reason it will prove to be not doable without rewriting all the system. Better still, allow you to have up to five of each job - one for each major hold - active at once. This way, you can have up to 35 Thieves Guild jobs at once! Same job in different city is the same quest with different parameters. As for the Companions, it is not my thing.
