MySModAlice
Hello! I am trying to dig up information on how to create custom particle effects in Falout4 (and Effect Shaders). Everything seems very closed off/byzantine concerning this, with older tutorials being mysteriously deleted from the net and whatnot. There are mods with custom particle effects, so for sure it can be done, just that perhaps I don't know where to look/who to learn from. Please please help me find a particle effects Yoda for Fallout4 or some tutorial links. Edited November 5 by MySModAlice Typos.
LarannKiar
Check out the Skyrim CK wiki for more info about Effect Shaders. Regarding particle effects, I think the ones you're thinking of are animated meshes. You'd need NifSkope to edit (and Blender/3ds Max to create complex) meshes. Papyrus scripts can also control mesh animations, see for example PlayGamebryoAnimation().
South8028
Hello. Fo4 supports custom superspray. Superspray is created in 3ds in the usual way. Particles are usually assigned the bsEffectFx material. Particles are exported to static nif. I wanted to give you a link to a training video from YouTube, but the author unfortunately deleted it. To create particles you will need 3ds 2013-2014 with bgs nif exporter installed. I don’t know if it’s possible to create particles without 3ds 2013 and bgs shaders. I do see that tutorial referenced in a lot of places where my search took me, and it always leads to that deleted video. I wonder if anyone has it saved anywhere

The author created the superspray in the usual way. He set the particle parameters and assigned bsEffectFx without textures (of course, you can set your own material settings by looking at the analogues in vanilla nif). After that, he exported the NIF as pe static art (but this is not critical, you can export it as pe anim, or pe weapon, etc., depending on the scene). After that, the author added the object to ck and opened it in the game. That's all that was in that video.
