Myrvarg
Ok, just entertained this thought last night... what if NPC's (and/or followers) could have themselves a follower (or several). Either just by having the player assign them to them, or letting them recruit some themselves somehow? Either to follow them around, helping them with tasks that make them seem busy and helpful... or following them on journeys along the roads, as bodyguards etc. Immuhrsif! SirCadsimar
The Vilja mod has a function to assign some followers to follow her (after doing the first part of her quest: talk to the tall drunk Nord just outside of Honningbrew meadery). If the followers assigned to her use certain vanilla game based voicetypes, Vilja will even talk to them. melvinius
It should be doable. Oblivion had squad follower mods where you could assign team leaders whose squads followed and stopped with them. Very handy. In Skyrim, this same AI is already used in mods that have bands of NPCs wandering around. Patrols, adventurer parties, teams of vigilants, etc. If I recall, in older Bethsoft games if you killed the leader, the rest would stand around staring at the body forever. It might still work this way in Skyrim too, I sometimes have groups of 5-6 NPCs bunching up around corpses and not moving.

I didn't notice this last time I had Vilja in the load order, but that's some years ago now... will certainly re-test this soon, as I get a playable game back up running. Thanks! Still hoping for some kind of mod outside of Vilja that can achieve this, or more free time to get around to studying modding myself eventually.

Just finding those records that deal with this interaction and somehow editing, adding to them correctly...maybe? Hope it turns out to be doable. Thanks for the insight!
