Bellystraw
Basically, anytime do a playthrough of DAO, when it comes to the endgame armor choices I always feel like picking Dragonscale is the "right" answer due to it pairing with Evon the great's mail. I do have an affinity for the skin and bone variants but when I want to be efficient I choose the scale. A way to fix it for me personally would be adding in chest pieces that you could slot in that have a set bonus with the skin/bone sets. Just pop 'em in a store and sell them for 100-130 gold and we're good to go honestly. I'll never claim to be the greatest name picker, nor will I claim to be an expert on balance but I think something akin to what I'm proposing would make choosing a dragon armor a bit trickier. Medium: Antivan Regicide Plates Description: Antiva is well known for their involvement regarding matters of the crown. Their master assassins also know that assassinating royals can get messy. It seems that this extravagant and gaudily enchanted chest plate was for one such occasion. +5 melee critical chance +10% chance to evade +1 stamina regen +1 health regen +10 defense Basically evon the great's mail but without the extra armor and swapped for some crit chance instead. Massive: Chevalier's Pride Description: The people of Ferelden have very little love in their hearts for Orlesian chevaliers but their gear...now that is another story entirely. This chest piece is so heavy that should the wearer fall over they could accidentally crush some unfortunate soul. But the protection granted is enough to ward off even the greatest of opponents. +8 armor +1 stamina regen +2 to all stats +10% chance to evade +10% fatigue (the + fatigue is negative right?) This one might be more potent but after checking out and reviewing all the ultimate chest pieces I feel like it's not overwhelming in any way. It's strong, definitely strong but it's not gonna file your taxes, clean your house and go to the gym for you.
