theoldavatar
Hello everyone! I just reinstalled Nexus mods and Cyberpunk to play it again after I heard it was pretty good. I wanted to do a modded playthrough and installed like 20 different mods and all their requirements. I launched the game and played for about an hour and realized I forgot to enable my mods and closed the game and enabled everything. When I restarted the game through Vortex my keyboard and mouse completely stopped working. I tried deleting all mods, uninstalling/reinstalling vortex and cyberpunk, launching with no mods even installed and my K&M still don't work. They work when I launch from steam but not when I go through Vortex. I looked online for solutions, but didn't find much of anything so I'm hoping that someone here has an idea. Pickysaurus
You don't need to start the game via Vortex if that helps. It doesn't sound like something the mod manager can cause so it's either mod or game related.
theoldavatar
I thought for the mods to work you had to launch through vortex though? Can I launch through steam as normal and the mods still work?
showler
Yes. Vortex does NOT need to be running in order for the mods to work.
fishmantx
To enable the mods you have to at least activate and launch via Vortex once to set the mod config into the game. I mean if your in it, you might as well launch from there. THEN you can launch without Vortex after that. Discovered that the hard way when I went from FO4 and decided to play NV (Vortex not running) for the first time in a year or so, no mods loaded so I had to go and activate FONV as the current game in Vortex to get the mods to load and work. I don't run Vortex except when necessary to change activation of the games that it manages. If you have multiple managed games that you like to switch playing regularly, you have to go to Vortex to switch the current game to active anyway, so might as well launch. Not sure why a game is deactivated that's not currently being played, but that's what happened. Makes no sense to me...
