jjb54
>> START A NEW GAME BEFORE YOU DO THE BELOW. >> Back up all Saved games, just in case. - First try this: Disable ( turn off ) all mods .. I understand that you cannot disable ( turn off the damn CC crap ) - then try the game. > Does it load?
melvinius
You could refer to my C.R.A.P. Guide on the Nexus for some basic info on diagnosing persistent crashes. (C.R.A.P. = Crashes Ruin A Playthrough) Check if you have any mods with problematic scripts. Wet and Cold and Wearable Lanterns gave me fits for years. SirCadsimar
Is the game crashing before it even starts up, crashing on game load, or crashing during gameplay..? Probably TrueHUD causing the crashes... There were literally hundreds of reports and posts since last winter's game update (late autumn too if you want to get technical), of the various HUD mods like TrueHUD and MoreHUD causing crashes (or people having these mods in their list and not realizing it was these ones causing the crash). Commonly cause the game to crash on start up. Open Cities..? Nope, nope, nope, learn to do without that. Get yourself an SSD hard drive if possible, then loading screens time aren't a problem (if that's the reason you have that mod in the first place) I liked Animated Ships, but it was causing consistent crashes in Lake Honrich near Riften so unfortunately I had to get rid of it. Might have been because of incompatibility with at least 1 other mod I use (Underwater Treasures AIO), but there weren't consistent crashes going on in the far northwest between Solitude and Castle Volkihar where there's way more Underwater Treasures additions. Edited December 5 by SirCadsimar more context or some such; better grammar, probably still imperfect
