DirebearCoat
I'm thinking of getting the game. The sale ends on 4 December. As much as I want to get the game, I have a few questions. Steam does not seem to have more details on some of this stuff. So, I'm asking here, since you guys got the game and are playing it. You had to go through some of this stuff. I figure you guys would know. Here is the link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1328670/Mass_Effect_Legendary_Edition/ If you look in the page, you'll see that there are these "Requirements." Also, there's this thing called EA Play. 1) Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required. Question: Is the 3rd-party DRM invasive? Does it snoop around on your computer for any reason? Question: Is the Origin client software something like Steam, where they sell you stuff to download other games? Or is it more like the SWTOR client, where you can't play without logging in first? 2) Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account. Question: How does EA use your account? Are they selling you stuff, billing you, etc? What if you only buy one game from them, are they gonna bug you from this account? 3) Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA. Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition EULA. No questions, here. EULA, self explanatory. 4) EA Play subscription requires acceptance of EA Play Terms. Question: Do we need to pay a monthly sub to play this game after buying, downloading, and installing the game? 5) EA Play: Join Now for instant access to Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition and other best-loved titles from EA, plus a 10% member discount and member-only content. For $5.99 a month. Question: I have to pay a monthly sub to play Mass Effect: Legendary Edition? Or is EA Play something else, and I'm not required to get it? DirebearCoat
I asked this question on Steam, too. I got an answer there. I think the answer is clear enough that I can consider my questions mostly answered. Here is the link to the post with my question, and the answer I got. Thanks to everyone who took an interest and looked at my question.
