iErase
Hello. I have an old monitor. Yes, people like me still exist... I'll get straight to the point. I changed the resolution in "SkyrimPrefs.ini", and it worked, but only on the main menu. In the game itself, the image is flattened, the aspect ratio is incorrect. I dug through Nexusmods, then dug through the Internet, but still could not find a solution to the problem. If anyone knows how to fix this - please help. I have not played Skyrim for about 6-7 years, but now I am fired up by this idea. During this time, a huge number of amazing mods for the current Skyrim SE have appeared. But I can't play like this... I don't want to play like this. It's disgusting. Maybe it is possible to prescribe the aspect ratio somewhere? Please help if you know a solution to the problem. I am almost in despair...
weiht68
Have you installed any display tweaking mods? Which game version are you running? Nvidia graphic card?

It seems like only these 2: SSE Display Tweaks + Auto Resolution. This was the last thing I tried to install, hoping that it would help solve my problem. But nothing changed. And in "Mod Organizer 2" I see this: For some reason, instead of the mod version, the date is indicated, and MO2 complains about the outdated version, although it is the latest, current one. 2. Skyrim SE 1.6.1170.0.8 3. Radeon RX 570 Series (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/sapphire-pulse-rx-570-oc.b4447) Also now it seems to me that I installed something wrong in my joy. Perhaps I installed a mod/mods of the wrong version. It seems to me that McM does not see all the mods. And also for some reason I cannot change the difficulty level of the game. There is simply no such option. But I will try to figure out this problem now, disabling modifications one by one. Maybe I will be able to figure out the culprit... The choice of difficulty level disappears after installing SkyUI. And how to fix it?... Edited 2 hours ago by iErase

weiht68
i think your resolution problem is comming from autoresolution and ssedisplaytweaks. i would deinstall autores and tweak the displaytweaks.ini to your liking. I am not sure if the game/displaytweak directly allow your resolution. I can check this later this evening. You can also have my ini from display tweaks. It's at the moment capped at 60Hz/fps because defekt monitor but you can change it self if you like. SkyUi is also a mystery for me. Maybe i am to stupid but Opt3-Larger MCM was also not function by me (as the other not standard options). Try to install everything default/standard.Dosn't looks perfect but it shows everything. A last thing , i think could maybe help is to install skyrimupscaler. With 11.70 is the ingame hotkey not longer function but the ini has only for or five parameters to change if you like. It's not necessary to change anything if you follow the install guide from upscaler and upscaler baseplugin. I come back to you later when i am home.
weiht68
PS: Have you changed resolution with a editor? If so than think about to use BethiniPie because i think resolution is not only saved in prefs.ini - but i am not sure. At least it's much easier to change settings. Thank you very much for not remaining indifferent to my problem. I'm afraid that you will have to suffer with me a little if you decide to help me. I'm sure I understand all this much less than you do. And I don't speak English well, I hope you will use as little slang as possible so that the translator can handle it normally Another problem has appeared. More precisely, those last 2 mods that MO2 did not accept - it seems that this was only the beginning. Now MO2 also does not accept every new mod that I try to add, with the same "flags" and date instead of the mod version. Why this happens, as well as how to solve this problem, I do not have a single idea yet...

I don't quite understand what editor you're talking about. I changed the resolution only in "SkyrimPrefs.ini" after I realized that it was impossible to do this in the game launcher. And as I already said - the aspect ratio normalization only happened in the main menu. In the game, the image remains flattened and grainy. You shouldn't pay attention to the date instead of the version, because some mods that MO2 correctly accepts also have a date instead of the version. Perhaps the problem is that I'm trying to install something through MO2 that needs to be installed manually. I'm not sure... I'll try to check now.
