Request/Suggestion - Juggernaut armour set - Veilguard model

Hello everyone.

I've been getting back into Dragon Age Origins recently, and I've also started using mods that can be found here.

One of the mods I was interested in, and have installed, is ‘Tevinter Night’. I found it interesting, a mod that allows you to change the weapons and armour of the people of Tevinter that you meet in the game via the model that they have in Dragon Age Inquisition.

I just wondered one thing: has anyone ever thought of making a mod like ‘Tevinter Night’ for weapons and armour that are of Tevintian origin, but older?

I'm thinking in particular of the ‘Juggernaut’ armour set that can be found in the Forest of Brecilian. In the lore of the set, it's stated that this armour belonged to a Magister of the Imperium. But the armour simply looks like a set of plate armour.

So I was wondering if anyone had ever thought of making a mod to make this armour look more in keeping with its origin. Even if I don't know which armour model from one of the following games we could base the change on... The ‘’‘Imperium Resolve’‘’ armour, perhaps? Well, I'm thinking mainly of ‘The Veilguard’ if you want to find inspiration for this armour, as you can see more Tevinter-style armour there.

The Veilguard is probably a curse word on this forum.   😄

TBH, if there was one game that desperately needed a remaster it's Dragon Age: Origins.

Lets be honest, few in this industry even know how to tell a story any more - but with a Remaster they don't have to touch the story anyway to modernize the game and breath new interest into a classic.   Problem is trusting them to not break something that isn't broke.   Hmmm, struggling with that one.

To be honest, Dragon Age Origins desperately needs a guarantee it won't be touched by so called "remasters". Graphics aren't everything, and with texture or reshade mods Origins doesn't have to be ashamed of anything even in that regard. Remastering the best game in the series sounds counter-intuitive to me, many things considered.

Trust? Just because the name 'Bioware' is still there, it doesn't mean it's the same Bioware that made Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect trilogy. Name is just a name, actions and effects of said actions, say more. And let's not kid ourselves, they would touch the story, very much, it won't be just about adding 'ray-tracing', or some other, very important for the overall quality, modern feature. They would change the combat to of course, more 'action-oriented', a simplified one so it's more approachable.

Bioware - had been the people. Find out how many of Bioware veterans that created the classics I mentioned, works in there as of now. The power of names, and their legacy.

People who love the game as is simply don't have to install a remaster.   So said guarantee is moot.

It's not as if there is a flood of people still playing Dragon Age:Origins.

----

Agree with the whole culture of Bioware - and it's affected most AAA studios for that matter.

But the concept stands, it's 2025 and the graphics were limited to 2009 standards.

Not to mention it's limited to 32 bits, when the world has long since moved to 64 bit OS.

----

Hence my original point, the problem is trusting them.    Trust can be a dirty 5 letter word.

So moot is an opinion about Origins desperately needing a remaster. The word 'desperately', especially. I'd use it more about the latest part of the series, it has modern graphics, it came out a few months ago, but needs a remaster already. Impressive, when to think of it.

Things don't have to be about a flood every time, the number of people doing something or not, is also sometimes nothing to be proud of. We don't have to look at the numbers all the time, because by that measure any quality product, such as classical music, is usually in a worse situation, because a flood usually is interested in the cheapest, but available and approachable thing. Or something that is being released every year, like football games by...oh, what a surprise, EA.

I agree that Origins came out in 2009 and it was for 32 bits. But from what I gather, with a LAA patch and a ton of mods, it doesn't have to be ashamed of anything graphically. Modding sometimes does a better job than 'professional' remastering.

In such business, customers should be serious, Bioware has started to lose trust since Dragon Age 2, because that and each next game has been a lesser or bigger disappointment, even when we consider Mass Effecr 3, the funny things with the coloured endings are memorable to this day. Inquisition was a surprising exception, in my opinion it's not a good DA game, but it's still a good game. Unfortunately that was the brighest case, a pity they at least didn't continue something that could be reforged into Bioware 2.0, with a different quality, but still quality.

Time for regaining trust was with the fourth Dragon Age, they had so many years to have truly...returned, once again. They did not. Now it's time for another Mass Effect - if they managed to make that one at least good (fifteen years ago I'd have expected only top quality from them) - objectively, nobody will deny it then, I think that's like, a real last chance for defending the rusting Bioware's name.

Bioware is done - scorched earth.

Bethesda may very well be next in line.     They are walking on eggshells as it is as their releases in the last 10 years have to be considered at best just hyped asset flips.

If ES:VI is anything like Starfield (i.e. Fallout in space with a 10 year development cycle - or in other words a reskinned ES:V after 15+ years) they might as well just close up shop.
