gamerad666
So, i decided to write an idea for a mod here because I don’t know how to work in GECK the main idea is to revive dead NPCs in different ways: 1.The usual boring resurrection resurrecting a corpse regardless of anyone (except for robots) by activating the corpse in stealth mode using the doctor's bag 2.Creating skeletons of ghouls and human-like ghouls all of them can be created directly by activating a corpse (with the necessary materials like bones) or on the altar bones can be collected if you have the necessary perk So for variety I came up with the following: 1.customize the mortality level of the undead for example, you can choose what level the created undead will have from 1 to the maximum or player level You can also add health to the undead through the settings undead companions should give experience to the player if they kill someone control the undead squad through the menu (eg waiting, following, defending territory,) and teleporting them to the player
Squidfest
I think I have a version of this somewhere on my computer. I was trying to include some more body horror in my Cruelty Squad mod, and one of the things that I workshopped was the ability to activate a corpse and create a duplicate of the NPC that follows you around. Assumedly, one could simply append the SetRace command to turn them into ghouls (although their noses would be all f*#@ed) and that'd be your zombie mod. There were a few limitations, however; Because I wanted them to function like full NPCs, they had to have specific packages and records in-game which made having a zombie army infeasible. Never figured out CCC compatibility for them, either. Additionally, I'm pretty sure they break with anything that adds non-vanilla races. It's a whole headache to do that. Now if you wanted something like Robotician, and just stapled it to humans instead of robots, that COULD be done, but it wouldn't be the face of the one you resurrected. I believe RobCo Certified had a version of this that allowed you to create Lobotomites, including Deathclaw Lobotomites, but that mod is old as sin and unsupported at last blush. I may have canned the whole project, though.
laclongquan
I would advise you guys to try Obscurum Pandemic, a total conversion project for FNV. It's practically a different game running with FNV engine. Anyway, in that module, there are two classes of players that can summon succubus and zombies from corpses. --- Another method I can think of is to additem a skeleton armor to the resurrected NPC. So that one will appear as skeleton doing all the things its AI package design from start. Skeleton armo item you can take reference from DLCs as they have some variant for that. This is the Dust method, as naugrimm use that to convert existing NPC on the map (and cells) into skeleton lying on the ground. So adding an armo item, and doing edits to AI package and voila~ Edited March 2 by laclongquan
gamerad666
The thing is, I don’t like mods that completely change the gameplay of the original New Vegas. Robco Certified is cool, and so far, it’s one of those mods that feels closer to necromancy. However, I’d prefer if the undead and their creation system were more in line with necromancy altars (portable ones) and similar mechanics. It would be convenient if you could adjust the mortality, level and health of the lobotomites created. Another issue is that the minions in Robco Certified are extremely strong compared to vanilla opponents. They’re also constantly healed after fights, which makes them almost unkillable. What I really want is a mod similar to Practical Necromancy (Dark Arts) from Skyrim, but with more flexible minion settings. Unfortunately, New Vegas doesn’t have anything like that. I’d consider making it myself, but I have no interest in diving into the complexities of GECK and similar tools.
laclongquan
Picky, picky~ Because what you want not only minion system, you want to mess with companion control (HP healed after fight mechanism). I still say Obscurum Pandemic is about best suit your need. Otherwise you simply have to do it yourself. I dont know any other mod ever devise anything beyond OP. gamerad666
i guess, most likely no one will make such a mod for vanilla New Vegas, it's a pity
JimboUK
There's nothing stopping you doing it.
gamerad666
What stops me is the G.E.C.K itself and the time it takes to understand it, and I don't have enough free time. I tried to start making such a mod myself, but it's too difficult for me I will wait in the hope that there will be a lover of New Vegas, a mod creator who also loves necromancy. laclongquan
From a Nexus search we have Dusty Mercenary mod. And we can additem a skeleton armor to any mercenary and we have skeletons following Courier Six around. There should be some other robot followers mod too. gamerad666
As for Dusty Mercenary, it seems like you can only run with 4 mercenaries at a time, but you can probably set this limit somewhere. Someone could try adding a skeleton faction to a mod called Mojave Squads, but I haven't seen any custom faction addons to it yet. Would anyone else be able to transfer the perks and NPCs for them from Obscurum Pandemic to vanilla Edited March 10 by gamerad666
