7531Leonidas
I still think that OneDrive or some other sync function is causing the problem. I have seen a lot of wonky Vortex behavior described due to cloud sync, maybe because sync is trying to 'restore' it before it can complete installation/modification? If you are a computer tech, you should have been able to find the lines in your log with the crash reason. Took me about 60 seconds to find it. It appears to be related to the dependency manager and some missing mod directories. Did you manually delete mod directories outside of Vortex? 2025-01-18T18:52:04.570Z - warn: network error unhandled Error: EPIPE: broken pipe, write 2025-01-18T18:52:06.016Z - error: [mod-dependency-manager] Mod directory not found {"modDirectory":"Sexlab Enchantress Redux 1_0_2 SE","error":"The system cannot find the file specified."} 2025-01-18T18:52:08.802Z - error: [mod-dependency-manager] Mod directory not found {"modDirectory":"Sexlab Enchantress Redux 1_0_2 SE","error":"The system cannot find the file specified."} 2025-01-18T18:52:09.151Z - info: memory usage growing fast {"usage":"956.4 MB","previous":"491.9 MB","max":"4.00 GB"} 2025-01-18T18:52:14.808Z - info: archive referenced in mod doesn't exist {"modId":"Easy LockPicking by Laguen-102689-5-0-1588636895","archiveId":"SJblIjkAia","fileName":"Easy LockPicking by Laguen-102689-5-0-1588636895.rar"} 2025-01-18T18:52:14.808Z - info: archive referenced in mod doesn't exist {"modId":"Farm Animals - Hearthfire Edition-56961-1-7-1","archiveId":"B1bvrL463C","fileName":"Farm Animals - Hearthfire Edition-56961-1-7-1.zip"} 2025-01-18T18:52:14.808Z - info: archive referenced in mod doesn't exist {"modId":"KS Hairdos SMP-31300-1-4-3-1596895272","archiveId":"H14cHzPq6","fileName":"KS Hairdos SMP-31300-1-4-3-1596895272.7z"} 2025-01-18T18:52:14.808Z - info: archive referenced in mod doesn't exist {"modId":"Sexlab Enchantress Redux 1_0_2 SE","archiveId":"SkxRfG4jU1x","fileName":"Sexlab Enchantress Redux 1_0_2 SE.7z"} 2025-01-18T18:52:35.070Z - error: Failed to determine conflicts {"text":"file.slice is not a function","message":"TypeError: file.slice is not a function\n at Minimatch.matchOne (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\minimatch\\minimatch.js:860:32)\n at Minimatch.match (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\minimatch\\minimatch.js:768:20)\n at minimatch (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\minimatch\\minimatch.js:125:42)\n at E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar.unpacked\\bundledPlugins\\mod-dependency-manager\\index.js:2:658502\n at Array.some (<anonymous>)\n at t.default (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar.unpacked\\bundledPlugins\\mod-dependency-manager\\index.js:2:658493)\n at E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar.unpacked\\bundledPlugins\\mod-dependency-manager\\index.js:2:661335\n at Array.filter (<anonymous>)\n at E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar.unpacked\\bundledPlugins\\mod-dependency-manager\\index.js:2:661280\n at E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar.unpacked\\bundledPlugins\\mod-dependency-manager\\index.js:2:661760\n at tryCatcher (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\bluebird\\js\\release\\util.js:16:23)\n at Promise._settlePromiseFromHandler (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\bluebird\\js\\release\\promise.js:547:31)\n at Promise._settlePromise (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\bluebird\\js\\release\\promise.js:604:18)\n at Promise._settlePromise0 (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\bluebird\\js\\release\\promise.js:649:10)\n at Promise._settlePromises (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\bluebird\\js\\release\\promise.js:729:18)\n at Promise._fulfill (E:\\Spill\\Vortex\\resources\\app.asar\\node_modules\\bluebird\\js\\release\\promise.js:673:18)","parameters":{},"wrap":false,"translated":true}
peterqpan
Hey, if OneDrive is the problem, how do I fix it? My Vortex is doing the same thing, just endless crashes. It'll crash upwards of ten times every time I start it, but when I eventually get it set up to run Skyrim, the game is fine?? I can spend ages in xEdit or Wryebash, just Vortex itself is bonkers. It also keeps thinking I told it to delete everything (I didn't!) or use a 'new file' of something that shouldn't have been changed in any way. Sometimes it does the white screen, but mostly it just crashes to desktop within a second or two of opening. I did click through to the 'more' and try the suggestions for white screen crashes, but that isn't the entire problem. I reinstalled the latest C++ and .NET in case that helped, ran system restore stuff through the registry, and I'm getting really frustrated! How would I go about seeing if OneDrive was the problem/fix it, any ideas?? Thank you!
7531Leonidas
I am still on w10, if you are on a version of w11, then do an internet search for something like 'disabling OneDrive windows 11', 'making exceptions in OneDrive windows 11'. I never allowed OneDrive to run on my PC, so I don't know how to change anything on it.
peterqpan
Thank you, I'll try it! I got a gaming computer recently after being exclusively mac-only for years and I don't know how to do anything! I couldn't even figure out how to turn it off at first, I was like "But there's supposed to be button in the left corner??" LOL Thanks for the prompt response, we'll see what happens!
