Possmgrl
Hello everyone, I'm going for a ghost/banshee-ish character for my next playthrough and I wonder if it would be possible to give the player character a spectral appearance for like a second or two when shouting? It's just a small detail but I like it, I just don't really know how to do it, if someone could explain it to me or make it if it's not too tedious I'd be grateful Thank u guys I hope u have a nice day
gpp9999
I tried looking into how something like that could be done. (Disclaimer, I'm not really that experienced with modding or working with the creation kit, so some of this could be inaccurate). After messing around a bit, I don't think it's possible to easily do that for every shout. I don't know of a way to trigger an effect on the player when they shout, other than editing every existing shout to add that as an additional effect. But then there's an issue. Shouts are implemented as spells with a "target type" attribute which is either "Aimed" or "Self". Basically some shouts (like Unrelenting Force) apply an effect to other people/objects, while other shouts (like Aura Whisper) apply an effect the player. If it's an aimed shout like unrelenting force, the game won't let you apply an effect to the caster (as far as I can tell). So I think it would be possible to apply a "ghost" like appearance to the player for some shouts, but not for every shout.
Possmgrl
That's interesting, I've been trying to make it work and I mainly used unrelenting force during my tests whiiiich might explain why it didn't work lol But thanks anyway!
