JonnConor
I have a problem. I tried the game Palworld on XBOX(PC) and wanted to mod it, and Vortex allowed to managing. But I bought it on Steam because I couldn't mod it on XBox(PC). And now Vortex won't let me transfer the manageing from XBox(PC) to Steam. How do I change the access Path? If I select Steam it gives that error.
Solution ChemBoy1 Posted January 27 Solution Share Posted January 27 First, try restarting Vortex. If that doesn't work, use the Stop Managing button, then add the game again. The extension sets the executable name dynamically based on the version that is discovered. Vortex has trouble transitioning from Xbox to Steam version for this reason. Generally, you should use the Purge mods function and Stop Managing the game in Vortex before switching between game store versions. Edit: It also appears that the game location for the Steam version was not picked up automatically. You might need to select it manually when adding the game again. vsampedro
It happens to me too, and purging doesn't work, it ALWAYS discovers the XBOX version, and afterwards there is no way to select the Steam version. And no, I don't want to uninstall the Gamepass version because although I don't use it with mods, I use it online. How hard can it be that Vortex really purges the data and asks us which is the correct version detected, or to have a dropdown to chose it? You can select the game location and set the store using the Manually Set Location button. This has always been the case for any game. I'm surprised you never tried that. Game Discovery prioritizes the Steam version as well. And on your "how hard can it be" comment - Vortex is an open source project. You are more than welcome to write the code for such a feature and send a PR to the repo. Since it would be easy, according to you.
