VibingLemon
I'm trying to make a retexture mod for Coral Island to put my own art as a character portrait and I have followed my own modified versions of both these tutorials (1 and 2), with everything working out and even showing up as intended in game! ^^ Example of what this should look like in game without mods. The only problem is the fact the image's colors and seemingly quality is all wrong. ^^ PNG FILE ^^ VS IN GAME/FMODEL I'm not sure what I did wrong or what the fix is so I'll detail my whole process below: This is the set up I'm working with: I put Coral Island into FModel and exported the raw data (.uasset) and texture file (.PNG) into a separate desktop folder. I made my own customized texture file in Clip Studio Paint (with the same resolution) and exported as a .PNG file. I opened up DDS Tools with the settings shown and put the corresponding .uasset file path in the 1st and new texture file in the 2nd section, then injected it into a folder with the same path as the actual file's path in FModel (named "Wakuu-Retexture_P") Used Unrealpak to make it into a .pak file by dropping the "Wakuu-Retexture_P" folder onto the unreal-pak-without-compression.bat file. Added Pak file into the paks folder in the game's steam folder. And that's it Any ideas what I did wrong? If needed here is a direct upload of the original texture file and the modded ones before and after all the steps.
VibingLemon
I think I have isolated the issue with debugging and found that DDS tools is the culprit... I'm not sure what's happening because it doesn't have any issue with the original files when I export them and re add them, it just really hates my retexture. Any ideas as to why this is happening/a better alternative to this tool?
