Toyotajunkie
Hello all, If this should be somewhere else, please say (or move/delete)!!! I am having multiple issues with MOD install and usage. Please let me know if more information is needed, and don't be afraid to say I did something wrong, lol. Edition Windows 11 Home Version 24H2 Installed on 12/26/2024 OS build 26100.2894 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0 Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1360P 2.20 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor VORTEX 1.13.7 Long time FO1 & FO2 player, but this is the first time playing FO3. After some of the initial troubles, I decided I would install the collection 'Fallout 3 Rebirth + 4k' and I am experiencing multiple issues. Some are Windows related. I will do my best to relay all I can. I began by installing FO3 GOTY without any modifications. It crashed as usual, so I dropped in the D3D9.dll file (only) and that got me to the "start" screen. There were intermittent crashes from there on, but i never got to the actual game play portion. That is when I just decided to install various items, including the 'Patcher' and some mods (I had not decided which at that point). As multiple posters instructed, I made sure to install things in the right order, and even removed the D3D9.dll before just in case it was included in any of my future installs. I decided on the collection (FO3Reb+4k) mentioned above, and the errors poured in like the Flood on 'Halo'. I just assumed it was because of how the collection was installing (that probably could be cleaned up by the way, but not the purpose of this post) and just tried to work with it as efficiently as possible, and in a manner that made sense from a technical viewpoint. Once the download "finished" (because it still hasn't truly completed), and after I spent a LONG time trying to fix the issues, I attempted to load the game once again. It crashed as usual, without the D3D9, so i dropped it back in. Then the next attempt spat me out past all the character-building/creation stage. (I only know I missed it because of previous knowledge that it would be there, ha ha.) At that point I decided I had probably done as much as I could. Please see the attached screenshots, which I will try to describe if they are not straight forward. Hit the limit, so i will reply here with additional shots. (Some have notes added in the shot.) 1) Note I Have installed 'Patcher' and D3D9 at this point.
Toyotajunkie
Further screen shots. This is about all I can think to provide but let me know if anything else will help. I am very concerned about the permission issue... I even tried the administrator profile, and it still says I am not the Admin. Thank you all in advance!
