Only a very, very small minority have spoken against it. When I went to the forums, the top 3 posts were written condemning the changes. I've also seen lots of complaints on the Skyrim Mods subreddit. I don't think these are a small minority. showler
Now that the Nexus Mods offices are closed for the weekend, it will be interesting to see how far downhill this thread goes by Monday.
donot10
I have never commented on anything on this site, but this new update is awful. I think everyone on the UI team should get fired. This is on par with the stupidity of updating the email app on I phone.
showler
For comedy purposes, here's a thread from 2017 where people are complaining about what a horrible redesign the new site is. That new site is, of course, the one you are all saying we need to go back to because it's so much better than the new, new one. Ever the same.

The previous redesign was also awful... but at least it was just a redesign. Not a removal of functionality and worsening of the user experience. I absolutely hated the last redesign, I thought it was awful and didn't deserve to be released... but I'd still prefer that over this mess that gives me constant headaches just looking at pages, that causes severe anxiety whenever I try to search for anything, that feels unresponsive and unintuitive and like Microsoft spat out a Windows 8-inspired UI onto a formerly perfectly fine website.

JumpinGopher
The redesign is trash. It is soulless and ugly and everything takes up way too much space. Add a toggle to go back to the good design.
ICETREY1997
Looks like the tampermonkey scripts to remove the /games part in the url so that you can use the old site ui no longer work. Well at least not for me. It just refreshes the page constantly until you get a 10 minute suspension. That's a bummer. And the download history still doesn't seperate games anymore. If anyone is curious you now have to be on a specific mod for whatever game you're currently browsing and then click my mods then download history. It won't work if you click straight to download history as all the mods will be together for every game.
NitroReaper
I agree with what people are saying here. The old design was fine; the new one is a step back in so many ways already mentioned in this thread (space usage, layout, search usability, missing features). If this really is "part of your ongoing plan to improve our website experience", then I implore you to listen to the hundreds of comments of user feedback that have been posted (not just here, but on the site's Reddit and Discord too) instead of adopting a "we know best" mentality.
